Cornas 2013 Reynard - Thierry Allemand
Thierry Allemand has been working the steep slopes just outside the town of Cornas since 1982, when he planted his own vineyard. Since then, he has slowly added plots, and now has about 10 acres of vines, most of them in prime locations and on granite soils. The winemaking is very traditional, with little de-stemming, and the wines spend up to two years in older barrels and tuns, with little racking, before being bottled without fining or filtration. The oldest cuvée, Cornas Reynard, comes from the oldest vines on the estate (34 to 90 years old). Wines with great purity and concentration.
