Côte-Rôtie 1988 - Domaine Vidal-Fleury
Côte-Rôtie - A Rare Wine
Vidal-Fleury's Côte-Rôtie is a great red wine from the Northern Rhône Valley, made primarily from Syrah, sometimes complemented by a touch of Viognier according to local tradition. Produced on the steep, schistous slopes of Ampuis, it offers a powerful yet elegant style, marked by aromas of black fruit, violet, spice, and peppery or smoky notes characteristic of the appellation.
On the palate, the wine is distinguished by its refined tannic structure, freshness, and depth, with a beautiful length on the finish. This is a wine built for aging (often 10 to 20 years) that pairs perfectly with red meats, game, or dishes with sauces, ideally served at around 16–18°C after decanting.
