Côte-Rôtie La Viaillère 2019 - Domaine Rostaing
A heritage cuvée aged in small plots
Origin and family tribute: The La Viaillère cuvée is a remarkable and affectionate reappearance in the estate's range, initiated by Pierre Rostaing in tribute to his grandfather. Produced from a small plot planted nearly 90 to 100 years ago under the “Grandes Places,” it had already given rise to isolated vintages in 1995 and 2016 before being produced regularly from 2019/2020 onwards.
Vinification and expression of the terroir: It is partially destemmed, undergoes long fermentation with indigenous yeasts and extended aging.
A wine with a deep color, harmonious and silky, with refined aromas: black cherry, kirsch, violet, green pepper, dried herbs, raspberry, licorice, sometimes leather, gingerbread, or violet. The tannins are very refined, the palate is full-bodied, and the finish is long and persistent.
