The 2015 Volnay Premier Cru Les Santenots-du-Milieu is a powerful and structured wine with a bouquet of red and black cherries, spices, potpourri, espresso, and lightly grilled meat.
Palate: Full, rich yet lively, with fine, structured tannins.
Aging potential: 2025–2045.
A refined Pinot Noir with great ageing potential
On tasting, Volnay Santenots du Milieu delivers a delicate, bewitching palette of aromas: ripe red fruits, violets, notes of undergrowth, with a mineral touch that is a sign of the terroir. On the palate, the balance between power, finesse and length is exceptional. The fine but present tannic structure allows it to age admirably. This Premier Cru can be cellared for 15 to 20 years, gaining in complexity over time. It goes perfectly with truffled poultry, mushroom risotto or tournedos Rossini. A jewel from Comtes Lafon, to be savored slowly.
