Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes 2014 - Domaine Chanson
Chanson Père et fils
93/100 Wine Spectator
"The first impression is of candy - how can you resist? But it's more complex, with flavors of pastry, gunflint, honey and wax surrounding a core of apple and lemon, all underpinned by a vibrant structure. It continues with mineral, lemon and pastry notes. Best from 2018 to 2028."
Domaine Chanson's Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru “Les Chenevottes” is a white Burgundy wine from a neighboring climat to the prestigious Montrachet, benefiting from well-drained limestone terroir. This 100% Chardonnay combines elegance and roundness, with an expressive nose blending white flowers, yellow-fleshed fruit (peach, mirabelle plum) and hints of butter.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with freshness and fine minerality. It has a silky structure, balanced tension, and a persistent finish marked by notes of citrus and hazelnut. Accessible young, it can also be aged for a few years to gain in complexity. Perfect with grilled fish, poultry in sauce or mature cheeses.
