93/100 Parker
Cellaring potential: 2022 - 2025
Tasted by Joe Czerwinski on May 5, 2022: "A 50/50 blend of bourboulenc, clairette, grenache blanc and roussanne, with only the last of these aged in barrel (the others remain in stainless steel), Giraud's 2020 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc Les Gallimardes shows notes of toast accenting ripe pear and pineapple. It's ripe and round on the palate, then firms up and gains concentration on the long finish, adding notes of lime zest and brine. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes."
Domaine Giraud Chateauneuf du Pape White Cuvee Galimardes of a mixture of Roussanne, Bourboulenc and Clairette. The production is close to 250 cases per vintage.
When to drink Domaine Giraud, anticipated maturity, decanting time?
Domaine Giraud can be enjoyed young, with a decanting time of about one to two hours. This allows the wine to soften and open up its flavor. Older vintages may need a little decanting, just enough to remove the sediment.
