Sancerre Guigne-Chèvres 2019 - Domaine Vacheron
96/100 Parker
Conservation: 2021 - 2037
By Stephan Reinhardt in 2021: "From a northeast-facing vineyard on Jurassic (Oxfordian) limestone that was harvested between September 12 and October 4, the 2019 Guigne-Chèvres Sancerre is clear, pure and flinty with a bright and refreshing yet deep and complex nose that delivers notes of oyster and lime/lemon peel with discreet but charming aromas of passion fruit and a strong flinty undertone. On the palate, this is an exciting, fine, long-lasting and vivacious Sancerre from an 84-acre vineyard planted in 1983. The wine is rich and intense but also pure and savoury and develops a long, taut, tightly woven, classic finish with appetising salinity and striking phenolic structure. This is probably the best Guigne-Chèvres I've ever had (or at least I've encountered the wine at a perfect time). Tasted in February 2021."
