Product description
The Maison de Champagne Egly-Ouriet produces this magnificent Premier Cru Vrigny located on the Montagne de Reims. The soil is chalky and light, and the old Pinot Meunier vines behave perfectly.
The vinification of this Champagne 1er Cru is partly done in wood (in old barrels from 1 to 5 years old) from the first pressing.
Cellar time : 36 months
Disgorgement date : Juillet 2020
The nose is expressive with notes of dried fruit.
The mouth is sweet, vinous, spicy with a very nice length.
Food/wine pairings: white meats, especially poultry
To be served between 8 and 10°C.
Still the same vinification methods as the other vintages but the originality of this cuvée comes from the fact that it is composed only of old Pinot Meunier vines, so there is no blending with the other grape varieties. On the other hand it is not classified as Grand Cru since the grapes come exclusively from the Vrigny vineyard, classified 1er Cru.
Blend 50% of 2015 harvest, 30% of 2014 harvest and 20% of 2013 harvest.
Dosage: 2 gr per litre
