By William Kelley on September 23, 2021 : "Francis Egly's 2012 Brut Grand Cru Vintage is brilliantly predictable, but it is also a serious, structured wine that will need time to relax. Blending citrus, pear and stone fruit notes with hints of freshly baked bread, praline and baking spices, it is full-bodied, deep and multi-dimensional, with huge concentration and a taut, layered core. Built around racy acidity and prodigious reserves of chalky extract, it is long, precise, remarkably fine and elegant for such a powerful wine. Make no mistake, this is one of the wines of the vintage, but like the 2008, it will require patience. With a little more time, I wouldn't be surprised if it starts to approach a triple digit score."
