Order bottle of Celebris 2012 Blanc de Blancs - Champagne Gosset
Champagne Gosset
94/100 Parker & 94/100 Wine Spectator
The Gosset Celebris Blanc de Blancs 2012 is first and foremost a Grand Vin, before being a Grand Champagne. This exceptional cuvée is distinguished by its rarity, since it is limited to only 15,000 bottles. This vintage is the very first edition of Gosset Celebris Blanc de Blancs Vintage, marking an important milestone for the Maison Gosset.
Time plays a fundamental role in the creation of Celebris, contributing to the expression of the unique style of this confidential cuvée. According to the Cellar Master, Odilon de Varine, "this is the first vintage Blanc de Blancs of the House, and the Chardonnays of the year 2012 lent themselves perfectly to the balance sought for a Gosset Celebris cuvée."
To the eye, its color displays a golden hue, lightened by emerald reflections and fine delicate bubbles.
On the nose, fresh menthol notes mingle with fruity aromas of pink grapefruit and frangipani, creating a delicate and elegant bouquet.
On the palate, the attack is lively and fresh, with a slight lemony touch. In the mid-palate, we discover a gourmet complexity evoking baked apples with salted butter, a tarte tatin or a far breton. The whole is enhanced by a subtle hint of candied ginger and star anise. The finish, long and mineral, is marked by notes of fresh apple frog and a touch of citrus.
At the table, this Grand Vin is the perfect accompaniment to fresh and refined dishes, such as fish rillettes, ceviches, carpaccios or scallop tartares. It also goes well with oysters or fish grilled on the plancha. Its freshness pairs elegantly with parmesan slivers or even more traditional dishes such as white meats, poultry in a light sauce, braised veal or kidneys cooked in white Port.
On the technical side, it is made exclusively from Chardonnay, cellared in 2013 and has benefited from 9 years of maturation on lees before being disgorged in March 2022. The dosage is 7 g/l, and the grapes come from prestigious villages such as Ambonnay, Avize, Cramant, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
Finally, Maison Gosset, founded in Aÿ in 1584, is the oldest Champagne Wine House, having remained family-owned and independent since its origins.
