Hermitage La Chapelle 2014 - Paul Jaboulet Aîné
- • 94/100 Parker
- Cellaring : Drink now through 2036.
- Tasted by Jeb Dunnuck in 2016 : "The 2014 Hermitage La Chapelle is certainly a success, displaying a deep ruby color as well as classic notes of smoked meat, crushed violets, spice, black raspberries, and currants. Elegant, finesse-driven and with impeccable tannin quality, it will keep for two decades."
"Caroline Frey and winemaker Jacques Desvernois continue to produce a host of high quality wines from across the Rhone Valley. The 2014 and 2013 show the character of the vintage well, and the wines have fresher, more elegant profiles without sacrificing too much density and depth. I would like a little more flesh and texture in some of these latest releases, but there is no denying the high quality of this estate today. "J.D.
