When to drink this wine? Can be drunk now. Great mature champagne.
Tasted by JS in 2022: "93 Points
27 Jun, 2022 - A little brighter and more vibrant than the 744, with notes of poached pear, baked apple, grapefruit, lemon zest and pistachio. Fine bubbles with crisp acidity and a pure, fruity core. Very drinkable. Dosage of 0.75g/L. Disgorged in January 2022. Drink now."
PRESENTATION OF THE 745 VINTAGE
- Weather and harvest conditions of the terroir : The harvest, in Aÿ, Dizy, Hautvillers (66%), Avize and Oiry (34%), had a winter and spring that was exceptionally dry. The beginning of the spring season was mild, but in April, destructive frosts ravaged the vineyards, especially in the Côte des Blancs. Temperatures then rose and the weather was fine until July. The end of the season was warm but very rainy. They started picking on September 4th and finished on September 13th. A rigorous sorting generates a small volume harvest but allows to obtain ripe and healthy grapes. The wines are rich and dense and the winemakers complete the Cuvée with some reserve wines.
- Production: 205,164 bottles, 8,082 magnums and 250 jeroboams
- Dosage : 0,75 gr/l
- Tasting: A beautiful pale yellow color with golden glints. One notices a nose with floral flavors and notes of brioche. A lively and racy mouth. Great bitter notes on the finish which is fresh and long on the palate. Chardonnay/Pinot Meunier/Pinot Noir.
- Ageing capacity : A Champagne with great ageing potential that can be drunk from 2022 to 2040+.
