Château Léoville Poyferré 2008
Saint-Julien - 2nd Grand Cru Rated
94/100 by Robert Parker
"This is a remarkable wine and considered one of the best values of the vintage. With a deep ruby color and purple highlights, it seduces with its intense nose of blackcurrant and black cherry, enhanced with licorice, smoke, and elegant oak notes. On the palate, it is distinguished by exceptional concentration, a smooth texture, and impressive purity, while maintaining a beautiful harmony between power and finesse.
Already delicious to drink, it continues to evolve positively with age. Serve at 17°C, after aerating for about an hour, it will ideally accompany grilled red meats, delicate game, or mature cheeses. Its aging potential is estimated at 20 to 25 years, promising a beautiful evolution through 2028 and beyond."
