THE DOMAIN TELLS YOU ABOUT IT :
- Presentation of the vintage : A lot of roundness and friendliness in this wine. It caresses you in the mouth and seduces you immediately by its balance. Difficult to guess the Nuits terroir... Perhaps the nose, a little wilder than Vosne.
- Keeping and maturing : It is difficult to resist this wine in its prime youth but it also ages very well. The 87 or 89 vintages are still amazing in this respect today. The wine matures quite quickly in barrel, just like the pleasant face it will present later. The new barrel is very well supported (about 50%) and contributes to its structure.
- Vinification : Few extractive techniques are necessary for these grapes, whose natural elegance should not be spoiled. The vinification will therefore be normal. Ripeness and acidity values are average and require little correction. The vineyard is old (more than 60 years) and prone to coulure. Currently in renewal (from the 2013 vintage), it is not very loaded and produces small millerandage grapes, often not much bigger than a pine cone. The cuvée has since been supplemented by the purchase of wine from a winemaker in Nuits St Georges.
