Montrachet Grand Cru 2020 - Marc Colin et ses Fils
(95 - 97)/100 Parker
When to drink this wine : A wine to keep for a few years (minimum 5 years): Can be cellared for decades.
Tasted by William Kelley in 2022: "Vinified and aged, like the Bâtard, in two previously used barrels, Colin's 2020 Montrachet Grand Cru unfolds to reveal aromas of pear, candied citrus, honeycomb, white flowers, fresh mint and buttered popcorn. Full-bodied, ample and satiny, it is deep and multidimensional, with high concentration, racy acids and a long, saline finish. It should rival or even surpass the formidable 2017 rendition. ".
The vineyard:
- Chardonnay Grape Variety
- Clayey-limestone soil of light hillside
- Plantation in 1945
Cultivation:
- Reasoned agriculture
- Single guyot pruning
- Manual harvesting
Vinification and maturing:
- Pneumatic pressing
- Vinification and maturing in oak barrels for 15 months.
- Fining and filtration before bottling
