Château Montrose 2008
Saint-Estèphe -2nd Grand Cru Rated
94/100 Parker
Cellaring : 2020 - 2055
By Neal Martin in 2017: "Tasted at the château, the 2008 Montrose is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot harvested between September 29 and October 15. It has a far superior bouquet than the 2006, which fell short, with aromas of black fruits, minerals, fern, and heather. It is very poised, almost understated, but clearly has great potential. The palate is medium-bodied, with tight tannins, a thin line of acidity, powerful for the finish but with impressive minerality and tension on the lingering finish. This is a fairly bold 2008 and one of the finest wines of the vintage. Tasted in September 2016."
