Château Mouton Rothschild 2016 in Magnum
Pauillac - Premier Grand Cru Classé
100/100 Parker
When to drink this wine : 2022 - 2085
Tasted by Lisa Perrotti-Brown : "Made from 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Mouton Rothschild has an opaque garnet/purple colour. The nose explodes in the glass with powerful aromas of blackcurrant cordial, black raspberry, blueberry tart and melted chocolate, as well as hints of aniseed, camphor, kirsch and, in the background, a subtle floral perfume. Full-bodied, concentrated, bold and utterly seductive on the palate, with very fine, silt-like tannins and layers of tightly wound fruit, finishing with a wonderful array of mineral sparks. Magical."
