La Mouline 2016 - Guigal
Cote-rotie - Guigal
Rated 97/100 Parker
By Joe Czerwinski: "The 2016 Côte-Rôtie La Mouline is distinguished by a rare approachability for a young “La La.” Its floral bouquet blends violet and hibiscus, supported by deep aromas of blackberry and cassis. On the palate, the texture is rich, silky, and concentrated, offering a velvety texture that extends into a long and elegant finish marked by notes of cedar, mocha, and salty licorice. A wine of great beauty, both refined and expressive, promising at least two decades of harmonious evolution."

La Mouline is one of the most emblematic cuvées produced by E. Guigal in France's Rhône Valley. From the prestigious Côte-Rôtie vineyards, this cuvée is part of the famous ‘LaLaLa’ trilogy (along with La Landonne and La Turque). La Mouline is distinguished by its finesse and elegance, being made mainly from old Syrah vines, complemented by a small proportion of Viognier, which adds a floral touch and a unique freshness. Carefully matured in new barrels for 40 months, it offers complex aromas of black fruit, spices, violets and smoky notes, with a silky texture and remarkable balance. This exceptional wine is a true expression of the Côte Blonde terroir, renowned for its rich schist soils and sunny slope. Produced in limited quantities, La Mouline is prized by connoisseurs of fine wines, and can be enjoyed both young and after several decades of cellaring.
