Chambolle Musigny 1er cru Les Feusselottes 2017 - Louis jadot
Great Bourgogne estate
92/100 Wine Spectator
Cellaring: Drink now or cellar until 2040.
BS Tasting Note 2020: "Shy in aroma, this red reveals cherry and floral notes, matched by a crystalline profile. Fresh and concentrated, it remains fused to a firm structure on the lingering, mineral finish. Best from 2022 to 2040. BS"
- Serving: 16-17 °C
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
Chambolle-Musigny is located in the Côte de Nutis, north of Vougeot and south of Morey Saint Denis. This village has 24 Premier Crus and 2 Grands Crus.
CHARACTERISTICS
Les Feusselottes is located in the heart of the village. The soil is limestone, clay and very stony. Feusselottes means small holes, small cavities.
VINIFICATION AND MATURATION
The harvest is done by hand in small boxes to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The grapes are then carefully sorted by hand and destemmed. Maceration of the grapes takes place in open wooden or stainless steel vats for 3 to 4 weeks. The vats are pumped over twice a day during the fermentation. The wine is aged for about 18 months in barrels from our cooperage, of which about a third are new.
