Description : The 1er Cru "Les Chenevottes" is situated slightly higher up the hill than the undisputed Grand Cru Le Montrachet. There are many points in common between these two wines, in terms of soil composition, exposure, southern orientation and finally the aromatic level. This wine is an extraordinary example of what this village is capable of offering as well as of the Maison Louis Latour's experience in winemaking. "Les Chenevottes" is a derivative of the old French word "cheneve" which means "hemp". It was therefore an ancient hemp field.
Fermentation : Traditional in oak barrels, 100% malolactic fermentation.
Ageing: 8 to 10 months in oak barrels, 50% new
Barrels: Tonnellerie Louis Latour, French oak, medium toast
Tasting note :
With a beautiful pale gold colour, this wine offers a nose with aromas of yellow peach, vanilla and marzipan. Its mouth is full and round with aromas of yellow fruit and brioche. One finds notes of fresh almond on the finish.
Food and wine pairing : Scallop tartar - shellfish - fish - goat cheese
