Pommard 1er Cru Argillieres 2019 - Nicolas Rossignol
(92 - 94)/100 Parker
Tasted by William Kelley on January 14, 2021: "The 2019 Pommard 1er Cru Les Argillières is quite muscular and powerful this year, showing aromas of plums, cherries, raw cocoa and warm spices. Lively and concentrated, with fine but nicely chalky tannins to support its deep core of fruit, it's a fine proposition for the cellar."
Geographical situation : This parcel is located at mid-slope, just above the Pommard Épenots, on the Beaune side.
Soil and environment: The soil is on a gentle slope, quite red in color (presence of iron) with a good proportion of clay hence the name.
The vineyard : A blend of a 30 years old vine and a 40 years old vine.
The wine : Round, full and rich wine, with a beautiful silkiness and ripe and delicate tannins.
