Tasted by William Kelley in 2022 - "The 2019 Léoville Poyferré is showing very well in bottle. It comes out of the glass with aromas of creme de cassis and wild berries mixed with notions of licorice, loam, cigar wrapper and smoke. This is a powerful, velvety smooth, broad and enveloping wine with a full core of fruit, ripe tannins and luscious acidity, finishing long and precise. Unquestionably the most sumptuous of the three Leovilles in 2019, comprising some 35% Merlot, the 2019 is a terrific effort that will offer a wide drinking window.
