Tasted in 2023 by J.S - "The 1960 Rivesaltes has a lucid tawny hue, slightly deeper than natural sweet wines of similar age. It has a fascinating bouquet of marmalade, allspice, cloves and a slight peatiness, perhaps due to its proximity to the coast. The palate is fresh and vibrant, with just the right amount of viscosity, beautifully balanced with shimmering notes of orange zest, allspice, lemongrass and quince. The detail is stunning and the finish is almost clinical in its precision. This is one of the best natural sweet wines I've tasted from Philippe Gayral."
