Château Fleur Cardinale 2009 in Magnum

Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé

 94/100 Parker

  • When to drink this wine? : Drink now to 2030.
  • Tasting: "A good value among the best performing estates in Saint-Emilion is the 2009 from La Fleur Cardinale. Composed of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, some of the the abrasive tannins noticeable at the start of this great wine (14.5% alcohol) are now sweeter and better integrated. From tiny yields of 30 hectoliters per hectare, this is a concentrated and rich wine that reveals generous nuances of dark cherry and cassis aromas and a fragrant, firm and full-bodied personality. It should be at its best between 2016 and 2030."

The winegrower tells you about it:

"His robe is deep and dense. The pleasure continues on the nose, where an intense aromatic palette is revealed, with ripe fruit, sprinkled with floral and spicy notes. On the palate, the cru charms with its balance and generous substance, backed by noble and silky tannins. The finish is long and aromatic. In short, its personality is surprising, so much it knows how to be both powerful and elegant".
