The Crozes-Hermitage Rouge from Domaine Alain Graillot is a true icon of the Northern Rhône Valley. Produced from 100% Syrah vines planted on the renowned rounded pebbles and alluvial gravels of the La Roche-de-Glun plain, this wine embodies the elegance and the revitalization of the appellation—a movement pioneered by the late Alain Graillot. The estate follows organic farming practices, favoring traditional winemaking methods (often using whole-cluster fermentation) and measured aging in Burgundy-style barrels. This imparts a unique identity to the wine, blending freshness and drinkability with significant aging potential.
On the palate, this cuvée stands out for its superb aromatic purity. The nose reveals vibrant notes of ripe black fruit—such as blackberry and blackcurrant—subtly enhanced by hints of violet, fresh pepper, licorice, and a smoky minerality characteristic of its terroir.
