Vigne de l'enfant Jesus 2013 Beaune-Greves 1er Cru - Bouchard Pere & Fils
Vintage 2013 : 90/100 Wine Spectator
Tasting Note : "Sweet, sappy cherry and raspberry fruit is the hallmark of this supple red. Spice and leafy, woodsy accents chime in on the long, balanced finish. Drink now through 2023. 150 cases imported." BS
Presentation of the cuvée: The name "Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus" refers to a historical anecdote. It is said that Marguerite of the Blessed Sacrament, Carmelite foundress of the Domestics of the Holy Child Jesus family, is said to have predicted the birth of the King of France Louis XIV when his mother Anne of Austria was barren. At the birth of the future Sun King, this exceptional vineyard belonging to the Carmelites took the name "Vine of the Child Jesus". In 1791, at the time of the sale of the national property, the Maison Bouchard Père & Fils acquired the parcel, located in the heart of the 32 hectares of the Beaune Grèves appellation. It still has a monopoly today.
TASTING NOTE: Superb bouquet of fruit and spices with a hint of barrel. Intense, full and delicate on the palate, it is enchantingly velvety. Very good ageing potential.
WINE AND FOOD AGINGS : Game birds, chicken in cream sauce, Burgundy cheeses.
SERVICE TEMPERATURE: Between 17°C and 18°C.
POTENTIAL GUARDIAN: 7 to 10 years and over
