The Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru “Les Bousselots” draws its unique identity from a historic vineyard located in the northern part of the appellation, at the mouth of the Combe du Meuzin. This singular terroir, whose undulating landscape bears witness to ancient scree slopes, rests on brown calcareous soils mixed with gravel, underpinned by Premeaux limestone upstream and Ostrea acuminata marl downstream. The old Pinot Noir vines, averaging 60 years old, draw from this soil the necessary substance to craft a wine of ample and generous character. On the nose, the wine reveals a rich and varied aromatic palette, bursting with notes of ripe fruit and exquisitely distinguished floral aromas.

On the palate, “Les Bousselots” offers a masterful balance between power and suppleness. Thanks to a long vinification process and gentle extraction, followed by meticulous aging for 16 to 18 months in oak barrels (20 to 25% new oak), the wine reveals itself to be dense, fleshy, and supported by remarkably high-quality tannins. The finish, fresh, easy to drink, and slightly taut, lingers with a beautiful mineral salinity that invites a second sip. Built for aging for 8 to 15 years (or even longer depending on the vintage), this elegant Premier Cru will perfectly complement large roasted game, a slow-cooked beef bourguignon, or strong cheeses.

Winemaking & Aging: Rigorous sorting, total or partial destemming depending on the vintage, cold maceration (3 to 4 days). Extended maceration of 25 to 28 days. Aged for 16 to 18 months in oak barrels (20 to 25% new oak). Lightly filtered through diatomaceous earth.

Serving temperature: 15-16°C.
