L'Oenothèque 2005 - Champagne Drappier
The 2005 L’Œnothèque stands out for its beautiful balance and aromatic richness. The nose reveals luscious notes of candied fruit and dried flowers, offering an expression that is both generous and elegant. On the palate, aromas of dried fruit dominate, accompanied by a touch of linden blossom and quince jelly that bring freshness and finesse. The very low dosage preserves a mineral structure and a clean, persistent finish.
A blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, this champagne is made exclusively from the first pressings (“cuvées”), vinified by gravity with natural settling and without filtration. After malolactic fermentation, it benefits from extended aging of over 16 years on the lees, developing complexity and depth. Dosed at 4 g/L and disgorged in June 2023, it reflects the precise and expressive style of the Drappier house, whose vineyards have extended over the limestone soils of the Côte des Bar since 1808.
