L'Oenothèque 2004 - Champagne Drappier
94+/100 Parker
The 2004 L’Œnothèque is distinguished by its brilliant straw-yellow color with subtle orange highlights. The nose reveals a beautiful aromatic richness, blending notes of yellow fruits, peach, and nectarine, enhanced by a touch of spice. On the palate, the cuvée displays great complexity with aromas of orange peel, spice, and delicate toasty notes, supported by a fresh and persistent finish thanks to a very moderate dosage.
A blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, this champagne is made exclusively from the first pressings (“cuvées”), vinified by gravity with natural settling and without filtration. After malolactic fermentation, it benefits from a long aging process of 17 years on the lees, imparting depth and finesse. Dosed at 4 g/L with a liqueur aged in oak barrels for many years and disgorged in June 2023, it perfectly illustrates the precise and expressive style of the Drappier house, established since 1808 on the limestone soils of the Côte des Bar
