Chateauneuf du Pape 2015 "La Part des Anges" - Raymond Usseglio
Mourvèdre is a late and very capricious grape variety, and is certainly one of the most demanding in the south of France, especially at the northern limit of its cultivation. This cuvée benefits from a maturation period that is marked enough to accompany the tannic power of the grape variety. When a wine is put into barrels for maturation, part of its volume evaporates and it is called "LA PART DES ANGES" (THE PART OF THE ANGELS). La PART DES ANGES is a very special cuvée for a Châteauneuf du Pape, since it is the Mourvèdre that dominates the blend, 70% of which is made up of Grenache (20%) and a little Syrah (10%), and it should be decanted if you wish to taste this cuvée before its first 2-3 years of ageing.
