By Joe Czerwinski in 2019: "The Châteauneuf du Pape l'Avenue 2017 is a 100% Grenache grown in demi-muids. Full-bodied, but falsely supple and agile on the palate, it offers an abundance of mixed red fruit on the nose - cherries, raspberries and strawberries. On the palate, it seems to darken a little into black cherries, while adding a refreshing mentholated touch. Tasted twice (once blind), with more tannin noted on one occasion, but with a similar overall impression: a beautiful expression of the fruit of the Grenache that finishes silky and sublime, with a subtle sprinkling of Asian five spice powder".

Vinification: The grapes are destemmed and crushed then conveyed into a truncated-cone-shaped concrete vat. The temperature is maintained at around 25°C during alcoholic fermentation. Maceration lasts about 30 days during which pumping over and racking over are carried out daily according to the tastings of our oenologist Philippe CAMBIE.

Ageing: Grenache is aged for 18 months in demi-muids of 3 wines or more.

Tasting: this cuvée comes from a plot of old grenaches on sandstone at the top of one of the hills of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The nose reveals notes of clementine zest and franboise coulis, the palate is on the palate.
