Côte Rôtie 2016 La Landonne - Delas Frères
Vineyard :
it extends over three communes, Saint Cyr sur Rhône, Ampuis, Tupin Semons, on the right bank of the Rhône (in the Rhône department).
Soil :
in the north, in Côte Brune, terraces of ferrous micaschist, very steep covered with a schist arena (arzel); in Côte Blonde, varied geology; predominance of gneiss and granite in the extreme south of the appellation.
Climate :
moderate continental, dry and hot in summer, regular rainfall in the other seasons.
History :
one of the oldest vineyards in France. The Romans developed it a lot. In the Middle Ages, it is said that the lord of Maugiron shared his property between his two daughters, one brunette and the other blonde, hence the names given to the wines "Côte Brune" and "Côte Blonde".

basic yield: 40 hl/ha.
Grape varieties :
Syrah, at least 80%, and Viognier up to 20% allowed.
