The most tannic of this year's "big three" bottlings, Cote Rotie la Cote Blonde has elegant notes of mixed herbs entwined around bold boysenberry fruit. It has abundant tannins that firm up on the long finish. Embryonic, but so promising, it should come into its own in about five years.
