Order bottles of Côte du Rhône Sérine 2010 - Domaine Montirius
Direct from the estate
The Côtes du Rhône “Sérine” from Domaine Montirius is a unique cuvée that showcases a very pure expression of Syrah, inspired by the profiles of the Northern Rhône. Made from old vines planted in sandy and sandstone soils, it captivates with its freshness and remarkable balance. The nose reveals delicate floral notes (lily), accompanied by small black fruits and spices, while the palate offers a supple texture, silky tannins, and a delightful richness. It is an approachable, precise, and elegant wine, designed primarily for immediate enjoyment, yet capable of aging for a few years in the cellar (5 to 10 years).
The distinctive feature of this cuvée lies in its “northern” profile, rare in the Southern Rhône, with a Syrah that expresses itself with finesse rather than power. Vinified in concrete tanks without oak and using natural yeasts, it retains all the purity of the fruit and the terroir. This style gives it remarkable drinkability, ideal for convivial gatherings with grilled meats or simple, hearty dishes.
Domaine Montirius is a family estate located in the southern Rhône Valley, spanning approximately 60 hectares between Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and Côtes-du-Rhône. Converted to biodynamic farming in 1996, it is a pioneer, having obtained certification for these appellations in 1999. Run by the Saurel family for several generations, the estate is committed to respecting the balance of life and faithfully expressing each terroir. Its artisanal and dedicated approach gives rise to authentic, precise wines, deeply connected to their environment.
