Pretty lilac highlights adorn the well-cut finish. Syrah and Viognier. Best from 2024 to 2033."
TASTING AT THE DOMAIN
Finesse, voluptuousness, delicacy. This Côte-Rôtie style, with 5% Viognier, is the perfect alliance of power and delicacy. Dark color, mineral nose, smoky, with black fruit, black olive, pepper, all enhanced by a floral component brought by the viognier, it is a wine both very aromatic and of great elegance. With well-constructed but perfectly smooth tannins, this Côte-Rôtie, which has a beautiful oval shape on the palate and a very long finish, is suave and sensual: a graceful voluptuousness.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
- Appellation : Côte-Rôtie
- Grape variety(ies) : 95 % Syrah, 5 % Viognier.
- Cellaring : To be drunk between 3 and 15 years.
- Average age of the vines : 40 years.
- Plantation density : 9000 vines / hectare.
- Vineyard management : The very uneven vineyard makes mechanization impossible. Spontaneous grassing. Maintenance of the vineyard with pickaxe and winch.
- Certified : Organic Agriculture (Ecocert) / Passages of biodynamic preparations (Compost de bouse Maria Thun, 500, 501).
- Places : Lancement, Maison Rouge and Coteau de Bassenon, Only in the south of the appellation, on a granitic soil.
- Pruning : Cordon de Royat, Guyot simple and gobelet.
- Harvest : Manual, at full maturity in 20kg boxes.
- Vinification : In stainless steel tanks with a part of whole bunches. Vatting period of 2 to 3 weeks with light manual punching down and pumping over (according to the tasting).
- Maturation : 18 months - In barrels of several wines and Stockinger tuns
