Hermitage Le Méal 2009
Chapoutier Estate
100/100 Parker
With an even darker color than the 2010 vintage, the 2009 Ermitage Le Méal stands out as one of the appellation's greatest expressions. The bouquet is remarkably intense, revealing sumptuous notes of jammy black raspberry, crème de cassis, crushed violet, smoky earth, and spices.
On the palate, the wine impresses with its richness and smoothness, offering a dense and profound structure, carried by a monumental mid-palate. The texture is complex, perfectly integrated, and remarkably elegant, revealing multiple aromatic layers that prolong the pleasure of tasting.
More hedonistic and voluptuous than the 2010 vintage, this 2009 nevertheless possesses equally remarkable aging potential, with the capacity to evolve over several decades and a particularly wide drinking window.
