Unfortunately, there are no bottles of Château Chalon 2014 left in their cellars—a management error. However, the winemaker always keeps one barrel of each vintage to observe the wine's evolution with extended aging. This 2014 still had a slight veil of yeast, partially fragmented.
The 2014 vintage, marked by higher acidity, offers great freshness. The wine is distinguished by its purity and elegance. It appears lighter on the palate, while retaining a remarkable aromatic intensity typical of the Château Chalon style: powerful notes of green walnut, curry, celery, and morel mushrooms, supported by a lively and effervescent minerality derived from the appellation's limestone soils.
A superb demonstration of finesse and tension, to be followed with interest until 2040.
