Rotenberg 2015 - Marcel Deiss
-
Presentation of the cuvée : First limestone slab of the great Oolith, sloping eastward, standing like a sentinel facing south and the plain, the Rotenberg is the earliest of the Bergheim terroirs. Its red soils, marked by iron, deeply calcareous and this totally sunny climate brings together Riesling and Pinot Gris in this shimmering of characteristic citrus fruits, less candied than in Grasberg, but fine and very elegant.
-
Tasting: A warm, expressive landscape, at first perfectly square, fairly compact, then widening, taking up more and more space, finally becoming clearly sedimentary. Dominant warm colors, saturated and full of life (orange, blue, cocoa, fruit), communicating a warm, ripe, delicious citrus fruit. In the mouth: extreme tension of the fabric, partly masking its notorious thickness under the lemony lustre, the twirling voluptuousness, the very soul of Jurassic limestone. With this great wine, energy comes immediately, lively as an uppercut, compact and fruity. It takes off from the seat and sends on an ascending orbit, ample and of great potential.
-
Grape Varieties: Riesling and Pinots Complantation
-
Custody: Service now and the possibility of 10 to 15 years' custody.
-
Type : Tender dry wine, seductive and lemony.
-
Terroir : It is early, first limestone slab of the great Oolith, facing south and the plain. torrid place, overexposed. red soil like blood!
