Chassagne Montrachet White 2023 - Paul Pillot
(90–91)/100 Parker – William Kelley
The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Village seduces with its charming and balanced profile. It expresses a bouquet of apricot and honeyed peach, enhanced with nutmeg and notes of fresh bread. On the palate, it is generous and textured, with a silky and harmonious body, offering beautiful overall consistency and a smooth finish.
The 2023 vintage from Domaine Paul Pillot:
This 2023 vintage marks another success for Thierry Pillot, offering whites that are both indulgent and vibrant, promising a wide tasting window. As William Kelley has often pointed out, Thierry Pillot is one of the winemakers who have earned Chassagne-Montrachet its current reputation as the most dynamic village in the Côte de Beaune for fine white wines. Entering his forties, he continues to think about the next step: his viticulture, already innovative with tall and sometimes braided foliage, will soon be accompanied by a new winery located below the village, offering more space for storage and allowing longer aging in his historic cellars in the heart of Chassagne.
