Chambolle Musigny 1er cru Les Feusselottes 2014 - Louis jadot
Great Bourgogne estate
(88 - 90)/100 Parker
- Grape variety : Pinot Noir
- Cellaring : 2018 - 2030
- By Neal Martin in 2015: "The 2014 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Feusselottes has a comely bouquet in the making with scents of strawberry shortcake and warm gravel that gain intensity in the glass. The palate has good weight up front with crisp acidity, fairly compact for now with just a bit of abrasiveness to tackle toward the finish. Give it a few years in bottle."
- Serving: 16-17 °C
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
Chambolle-Musigny is located in the Côte de Nutis, north of Vougeot and south of Morey Saint Denis. This village has 24 Premier Crus and 2 Grands Crus.
CHARACTERISTICS
Les Feusselottes is located in the heart of the village. The soil is limestone, clay and very stony. Feusselottes means small holes, small cavities.
VINIFICATION AND MATURATION
The harvest is done by hand in small boxes to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The grapes are then carefully sorted by hand and destemmed. Maceration of the grapes takes place in open wooden or stainless steel vats for 3 to 4 weeks. The vats are pumped over twice a day during the fermentation. The wine is aged for about 18 months in barrels from our cooperage, of which about a third are new.
