Chassagne Montrachet Blanc 2023 Magnum - Louis jadot
Grande Maison de Bourgogne
Terroir and Origin
It comes from the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation, located south of the Côte de Beaune, one of the great cradles of Burgundy's Chardonnay. The vines grow in clay-limestone soils that impart power, minerality, and complexity to the wines. This renowned terroir gives rise to structured and elegant white wines, reflecting all the richness of the Burgundy vineyards.
Winemaking and Aging
The grapes, harvested by hand, are gently pressed to preserve the quality of the fruit. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, about a third of which are new, followed by aging for approximately 15 months in barrels. This method brings depth and complexity while maintaining the balance and purity of the Chardonnay.
Style and Tasting Notes
This Chassagne-Montrachet is distinguished by an expressive bouquet blending white-fleshed fruits, citrus, and flowers, accompanied by brioche and lightly toasted notes from aging. On the palate, it offers a full and silky texture, supported by a beautiful minerality and balanced acidity that extend the finish. This great white Burgundy is an ideal accompaniment to fine fish, shellfish, or poultry in cream sauce.
