Chassagne-Montrachet 2018 - Louis Latour
Description : Chassagne-Montrachet and its neighbour Puligny are famous for their Grands Crus, the most famous being the Montrachet. But in the shadow of these white Grands Crus, Chassagne-Montrachet also produces remarkable reds on its clay soil with iron inclusions. These wines have body and structure reminiscent of the reds of the Côte de Nuits.
Fermentation: Traditional in open vats, 100% malolactic.
Ageing: 10 to 12 months in oak barrels, 35% new
Drums
Tonnellerie Louis Latour, French oak, medium toast
Tasting : The Chassagne has a brilliant ruby colour and opens on a nose with notes of blackcurrant, undergrowth and coffee. On the palate, it reveals aromas of wild strawberry and liquorice. It is a wine with silky tannins, full and fresh.
Food and wine pairing : Veal filet mignon - grilled meat - mature cheeses
