Rully Maizières white 2022 - Dureuil-Janthial
From the estate Vincent Dureuil Janthial
Cellaring potential: 2025 - 2045
Location : Maizières. This large plot, east of the village, is close to the D981. Maisiere is a word from the ancient French (from the Latin Maceria "dry stone fence wall") which provided many toponyms. Many evoke constructions of which there remained only ruins, probably from the Gallo-Roman period, not far from the Roman road Chagny-Cluny, from which the D 981 has largely taken over the route.
Geographical location: Center of the Appellation with orientation to the East. Very sunny soil in the commune of Rully.
Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Vineyards: Planted from 1997 to 2001 for a total area of 1 ha 99 ares 93 ca
Soil and subsoil: Clay
Vinification : Hand picked, direct pressing without crushing, static settling for 48 hours then put in barrels for alcoholic fermentation (20% new barrels exclusively from the Chassin cooperage).
Ageing: 12 months in barrels, then 6 months in stainless steel tanks. Bottling according to the lunar calendar
Personality : The long maturation period allows this wine to age very well. The minerality is always present despite the fact that the harvest is always carried out at great maturity.
