NOTES ON TERROIR AND VINTAGE

This wine was created in honour of Trimbach's talented winemakers, who have been partners of Trimbach for decades and with whom they share the same passion. This wine comes from an extraordinary mosaic of Alsatian terroirs. From north to south, these great lieux-dits terroirs sparkled in 2016. A mild winter was followed by abundant rainfall in the spring, which replenished the water reserves. A warm, sunny summer with peak temperatures in late August allowed full ripening and led to sunny conditions during the harvest.

VINIFICATION

The grapes are harvested when fully ripe, then crushed and gently pressed in a pneumatic press. Vinified dry style in stainless steel tanks and old barrels. No malolactic fermentation, nor long aging on lees to preserve freshness, liveliness and fruity aromas. Bottled in spring 2017. The wine was released four years after the harvest and is already showing superb development with an ageing potential of 10-12 years.

TASTING NOTES

A beautiful golden colour with green highlights. The nose reveals a delicate bouquet of ripe white fruits and floral scents. A dry style Riesling with crystalline acidity that brings precision combined with superb length. This gastronomic Riesling is ideal as an aperitif or with grilled fish, buttered shellfish or roasted white meats in sauce as well as traditional French dishes or spicy cuisines.
