Description: the vineyards for this Riesling are located on the sandy and gravelly part of the Herrenweg in Turckheim, a valley floor shaped by glaciers and rivers during the Quaternary. The layers of large pebbles can exceed 45 meters deep, as observed during the drilling of our winery well. These soils can be challenging in very dry vintages, but in wetter years, they highlight the importance of excellent drainage. The valley floor benefits from early ripening conditions, particularly favorable in 2024. A swift harvest and excellent soil metabolism allowed a fast and dynamic fermentation, resulting in a bone-dry wine with great structure. Tasted in August 2025: light pale-yellow colour. The nose, still slightly closed, opens with gentle aeration to reveal complex fruity and floral aromas (citrus, lime tree…). The palate shows serious structure, driven by ripe, tight acidity in a delicate, lacy texture with moderate power. This Riesling perfectly represents the grape variety and is already very enjoyable today.

Hint: Level of sweetness on the palate. Scale from 1 to 5.

1: technically dry or tasting dry. 2: not technically dry, but sugars are not noticeable on the palate. Some tasters may find a slight roundness in the finish.
