This cuvée comes from the lieu-dit Courbes Raies, located in Pupillin, in the heart of the Jura vineyards, a region renowned for its marl and limestone soils that produce taut and expressive wines. The estate, family-run for four generations, practices viticulture that respects the environment, with spontaneous fermentations and minimal intervention to allow the soil and vintage to express themselves fully.
The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay, the emblematic grape variety of the Jura, but here interpreted differently from Burgundy: more saline, more vibrant, and often more mineral.
The grapes are gently pressed and then fermented using indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for approximately one year on its fine lees, primarily in oak barrels, which adds texture and depth while preserving the wine's natural freshness.
This method yields a precise Chardonnay, free from pronounced oxidation, favoring aromatic purity and tension over opulence.
On tasting, Courbes Raies offers:
aromas of white fruits (apple, pear)
delicate floral notes
a distinct minerality accompanied by a touch of salinity
a full yet focused palate, with a long and fresh finish.
The result is a wine of great precision, balanced between freshness and complexity, often described as elegant and gastronomic, particularly suited to seafood, grilled fish, or briny dishes.
