Côte du Jura 2016 - Domaine Macle
94/100 Robert Parker
When to drink this wine: ‘2020 - 2028
Tasting notes : ‘Ordinary Côtes du Jura 2016 is much more expressive than pure Chardonnay. It's a blend of Chardonnay and Savagnin that usually contains decommissioned barrels of Vin Jaune, and it's sort of like a mini Vin Jaune, serious and balanced. It has rancid notes, hints of diesel, aromatic herbs and medicinal and chemical nuances, complex and different, but in keeping with the notes found in an old Château Chalon. It is very tasty, dry and chalky and finishes long with a saline touch.’
