Château Chalon 2016 - Domaine Macle
Jura - Vin Jaune - Clavelin bottle (62cl)
96+/100 Parker
By Luis Gutiérrez (The Wine Advocate)
"A rare and unique vintage, the 2016 Château-Chalon Macle was marked by a cold and rainy year, with no real summer. Bottled in January 2024 after a long period of aging under a veil, this wine embodies the finesse of an ethereal vintage, with reduced volumes and pronounced acidity.
The nose, still discreet due to its recent bottling, hints at emerging complexity. On the palate, the structure is more slender than usual: medium-bodied, elegant tension, and a purity of expression that is characteristic of the great terroirs of Château-Chalon. This is not an exuberant wine, but a model of subtlety, to be followed over the long term."
In keeping with the Macle tradition, this Château-Chalon will require several years of cellar aging before revealing its full potential. Ideally, it should be drunk between 2026 and 2034, or even later for those who prefer more mature wines.
Ultra-limited production, strict allocations: a collector's bottle reserved for enthusiasts of great Jura wines.
