The domain tells you about it :
The Moulin-à-Vent “Clos des Pérelles” is made from the Gamay grape, grown on gray, silty-granitic soils rich in manganese, facing due south. Located on a gentle slope ideal for optimal grape ripening, this well-drained terroir produces concentrated, deep, and structured wines, characteristic of the great Beaujolais crus.
The winemaking process includes maceration for eight to ten days to extract color and substance, followed by nine months of aging in oak barrels, which adds complexity and balance. Thanks to this structure and the quality of the terroir, the wine has an aging potential of at least five years, allowing it to gain in finesse and complexity over time.
On tasting, the wine displays a deep ruby color and a rich bouquet blending floral and spicy notes with aromas of red fruit. The palate is full and dense, with a beautiful aromatic persistence. Considered one of the most "Burgundian" wines of Beaujolais, Moulin-à-Vent is distinguished by a style that is both powerful and elegant, capable of competing in its structure and its aptitude for aging with some great wines of Burgundy or the Rhône Valley.
