Chateau d'Yquem 1948
1er grand cru classé - Sauternes
Wine Advocate : "The bouquet is honeyed and rich for this Château d'Yquem 1948, with subtle scents of peach skin, white flowers and a whiff of chalk and frangipane. The palate is viscous on the entry, first on the texture, covering the mouth with succulent botrytized fruit. There are hints of Seville orange marmalade, fresh apricot, a hint of spice and passion fruit." N. Martin (tasted in 2014)
Wine Spectator: "Recorked in 1993. Very sweet and yummy, this Yquem from a good vintage doesn't offer much on the nose, but it's lovely on the palate, with ripe and nicely sweet character. Shows good harmony from dried fruit, honey and maple syrup flavors.--Yquem vertical."
